Every once in a while people get tired and feel that they can't enjoy life anymore. Not they way you used to, anyway. Well, the years of hard work are beginning to show and you're not getting younger anyway, so the things that used to please you start to get a little boring. Even sex, which is strange because you probably used to enjoy it very much and your lady is as pretty and as skilled as can be.
So what's the problem? Why does a man who's not exactly old and who's got a sweet lady isn't satisfied by sex anymore? One possible answer is a drop in the libido. Libido is the free creative energy that an individual has to use toward personal development. The libido includes all the energy people spend on sex and the entire process leading up to sex.
This urge to copulate that is natural in all human beings can sometimes be lowered by various factors. Obesity and anorexia, the two ends of the abnormal feeding spectrum are known to have a negative impact on the libido. Depression and certain drugs used to fight it can also lower the libido and this holds true also for beta blockers, a class of drugs used by people who suffer from heart conditions.
But just as there are ways to lower the libido, there are also ways to increase it. The effort required by physical activity boosts the production of testosterone, which in turn increases the desire to have sex. So, if you're feeling down, exhaust yourself with physical exertion.
You might want to choose something that pits your strength or skill against that of another in order to force the mind to come up with additional resources and so, to heighten your desire to enjoy victory. And then there's food. Many foods provide a series of vitamins or substances that can help increase the libido. And besides, all that effort is bound to make you hungry.
The best food for a man who feels down must be rich in zinc, vitamins, folic acid, fatty acids and amino acids. So start including in your diet oysters, beans and nuts for the zinc that raises sperm and testosterone production. Celery contains androsterone, one of the hormones released through perspiration and which is believed to turn women on.
Bananas, eggs and avocados contain a lot of vitamin B6 that helps increase the production of hormones in males, while almonds are rich in the fatty acids that are the building blocks of hormones. Garlic (yes, garlic) gives you allicin, a powerful natural antibiotic and antioxidant who also keeps your blood vessels in shape. And, of course, everybody loves chocolate and the theobromine and phenylethylamine it contains. Say hello to energy land!
Now you know what you must do to keep your libido up: exercise and eat food that's good for you. And by exercising I don't mean going to the gym and all that. Just play football or tennis or whatever sport you like. Take long walks or hikes. You're not out to build muscle, you just want to feel alive and in shape. And that's very easy to do.
